Positive weekend despite Cremona Race Two crash for Luke
Another top twenty finish was the reward for Luke Power’s efforts in the latest round of the 2025 FIM Supersport World Championship at the Cremona Circuit in Italy.
Luke, who continues to recover from a shoulder injury sustained during the season opener in Australia gave it his all throughout the event which saw the top twenty-eight riders on the grid covered by less than two seconds.
Starting twenty third Luke gained places off the start in Saturday’s opening encounter which took place in scorching hot conditions. He took the chequered flag in twentieth.
Matching his qualifying time in Sunday morning’s warm up, race two unfortunately ended prematurely with a crash just after half race distance. Thankfully, Luke, who had once again worked his way into contention for a top twenty was ok after the spill and is now fully focused on returning stronger at the next round of the championship at the Most Autodrom in the Czech Republic in a fortnight.
Luke Power:
“The weekend started quite well, and we weren’t too far from where we needed to be which gave me quite a bit of confidence. I struggled a bit on Saturday in race one. The conditions were different which made it a little bit harder, but we got some good data and were able to finish inside the top twenty. On Sunday I didn’t quite have the pace that I expected. Unfortunately, I had a small crash with a couple of laps to go but this is part of racing, and I will make sure I learn from it and bounce back stronger in Most in a couple of weeks. I want to thank the team for all their hard work and to all my sponsors – let’s go again in the Czech Republic!”
