A motivated Luke Power looks ahead after a tough Misano weekend
The 2025 FIM Supersport World Championship reached the midway point this past weekend with round six taking place at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in temperatures over thirty degrees!
For Luke Power it was his Motozoo ME AIR Racing squads second ‘home’ race of the season and a return to the busiest circuit of the year so far with over seventy thousand fans attending. It was also a weekend that was character building in every sense of the word.
A crash in FP1 left Luke twenty-eighth in Friday’s Free Practice He qualified thirtieth for Saturday’s opening race after struggling with the front end feeling of his MV Agusta F800 RR and suffering a second crash mid-session.
Saturday’s first race saw the #68 maintain his position before he retired.
Big set up changes overnight improved things for the talented Aussie who gained six positions on the opening lap. Running a much stronger pace in twenty fourth he soon latched onto the group fighting for the top twenty and after a couple of mistakes from his rivals was soon P18. Unfortunately, a lap nine crash cut short what was an encouraging and confidence building weekend.
Luke now turns his attention to the UK round at Donington Park in the middle of July where he will also once again support the Two Wheels for Life Charity concert.
Luke Power:
“Overall it was a disappointing weekend. I was quite confident and hopeful of a good result coming into Misano but sometimes you get weekends like we had. A couple of technical problems and a couple of crashes was not ideal but in the second race we found a bit of pace and a bit of confidence which we will take. We had a good round in Phillip Island and a decent round in Most where we showed some speed, so we need to keep the momentum going as we head to Donington. I am looking forward to a smooth weekend in the UK where we can build from FP1 and everything comes together, and we can show our potential. I am not happy with Misano, but I am motivated for the rest of the season!”
